August 2025 Love Tarotscopes: Pearl.

@KatyPerry

Hello, darling, how are you? I know I have been M.I.A., but for good reason, as I've been a very busy young lady! Especially in terms of this past weekend. I hosted a dinner party on Saturday, the 16th, and went out the night before to a Katy Perry concert! My apologies for all of the exclamation points, but my excitement cannot be contained!

On the evening of Friday, the 15th, I saw the one and only Katy Perry at the CFG Bank Arena in Baltimore, Maryland. Katy was beyond fabulous! I have been a massive fan since I was in high school, when she used to date Travie McCoy from Gym Class Heroes, and later was married to Russell Brand. You know, the comedian who broke her heart on New Year's Eve by asking for a divorce via text right before she took the stage! I also vaguely remember when I was in high school, my celebrity crush, Travie, was taking digs at her! I always wondered why Katy's past lovers seemed so dismissive of her feelings, primarily since, in terms of popularity and achievement, she had already surpassed them. Wasn't it bad form to diss someone who had favor in the same industry as you? Or was that irrelevant since she was a woman who appeared to be non-threatening? Seriously, why did this triple Scorpio Queen who grew up poor in Santa Barbara have these men in their feelings?

Teenage Dream and Prism are my favorite albums from Katy Perry, so to see her live at her ripe age of 40, finally, my younger self was beyond thrilled! Katy's energy and body are incredible, and she even performed my all-time (not necessarily the most popular, since I was one of the ten people singing it in the audience) favorite song, Pearl. Pearl is about a woman who has a God-given light to her and struggles with partners who try to block it because of their insecurities, keeping her in the dark about the unstoppable woman she is meant to be. Does that sound familiar? We all have had short and long-term connections where a partner could have been belittling our efforts, purposefully downplaying our presence in their lives, and becoming a shell of ourselves by thinking there is no way out. Or worse, that we were incapable of receiving the love we gave to others. Watching Katy Perry perform this song took me to a familiar place, one I'd forgotten about. I've done enough work to appreciate the young lady that I used to be, while embracing the woman I needed to be to have gotten myself out of those shitty relationships! I noticed this reflection was connected to the divination I did for us in July for the August Love tarotscopes. I couldn't help but wonder, does our childhood desire to be chosen ruin our perception of what it means to be in a healthy relationship?

August 2025 Love Central Theme: Death & King of Pentacles.

Okay, so this Lion's Gate Portal and this upcoming Eclipse season have us taking stock of our relationships and the roles we played in them. Yes, the pity party is over, and we know that we are only in our present moment because of the decisions and actions we have made in the past. One of my favorite questions to ask my parents is what they would tell their 20-something self with the understanding that they have now. The best part is seeing their eyes or expressions light up in a way that suggests that not only have they learned from their choices, but they also have a new understanding that the choices they made in the past were wrong. Are we willing to be accountable for all of our decisions, even if we may have chosen them with good intentions?

The Death card is a reminder that change can be swift, which indicates how it is also "no longer" an option. Death brings an ending that can no longer be resuscitated, as the universe expects us to do new things and create new systems for our harvest season. Death has no bias and does not discriminate, no matter your class, education, race, or if you're "a good person." What if we took on those same qualities of death and respected the order of things by releasing the people, places, or things that are not serving our purpose at the moment? A transformation is taking place here because something in the air feels inevitable if we are meant to grow and evolve. When the Death card appears, a relationship may come to an end, or the way the relationship has been comes to an end after the realization that a new beginning is necessary. For example, a couple may decide that having separate rooms or places may be best. Or that doing long distance is no longer the best option, or realizing that a connection may need to come to an end as a person may not align with their long-term values. This could be in terms of family connections and friendships where a necessary separation is a part of the script until the time is right. The reinforcement of this change comes with the King of Pentacles.

Some connections may be tricky to change if we feel that a partner or connection is providing us with financial or physical security. You know, someone is paying the bills, so we are biting our tongue. Someone's presence makes us feel less lonely, and we would rather have them around than be alone with our thoughts. The King of Pentacles is someone who is perceived as generous and provides a sense of security with their generosity, even when we feel we may not be getting all of what we need. However, the King of Pentacles is reminding you to make the most of your resources and use this harvest time wisely. There's fertile ground here that is meant to bloom and flourish during Spring, as long as you honor the work needed to be done to increase what you have. That could be money or even happiness. For those who intend on working on their relationship, establishing new, firm boundaries and explaining in detail what support looks like and means to you, could be beneficial for the health of your relationship. This moment, whether it is a continuation or a crossroads, is about remembering who you are and how your needs are valid, especially when the scales have not been truly balanced. If you find that you need some clarity or have lost your way, here are some of the lyrics to Katy Perry's Pearl to remind you of who you are:

"She is a pyramid

But with him, she's just a grain of sand

This love's too strong like mice and men

Squeezing out the life that should be let in."

"She could be a statue of liberty

She could be a Joan of Arc

But he's scared of the light that's inside of her

So he keeps her in the dark."

"She was unstoppable

Moved fast, just like an avalanche

But now she's stuck deep in cement

Wishing that they'd never ever met."

"But I woke up and grew strong

And I can still go on

And no one can take my pearl."

"You don't have to be shell, No

You're the one that rules your world, ohh

You are strong, and you'll learn

that you can still go on

And you'll always be a pearl."

"SHE IS UNSTOPPABLE."

Earth Signs: The Emperor.

It feels weird for an Earth sign not to be in control of what they want. especially when it pertains to their partnerships with others, if you find yourself going with the flow, it is not necessary to forgo loyalty. What does that mean? Well, seeing where things go should not invite dishonesty, confusion, and a lack of values. Taking practical steps to get to know someone is great, and it involves a certain level of order with necessary deadlines! Going with the flow does not translate to wasting time. It is a time frame where two people can make an informed decision about their future as they get to know each other. You know you are spiritually protected. Just promise yourself that if you notice a decrease in consistency, transparency, and progress, you know the shelf life has reached!

Air Signs: 10 of Wands.

How much is too much? This could be a question that you may ask yourself if you're realizing your relationship dynamics don't always feel equal. Now, equality can look different from relationship to relationship; someone may do the cooking, and the other may do the dishes and the trash, which can still be fair and create harmony! However, this is different when one partner is emotionally vulnerable and transparent during conversation, while the other requires considerable time to process. Are you happy with your responsibilities within your connection? The 10 of Wands speaks to delegation and to not burden ourselves with situations or things that are not meant for us to carry. In other words, sometimes you have to leave space for people to figure out their shit with the understanding that you are there to support, NOT do the work for them! If this has been draining you, fix it pronto!

Fire Signs: Justice.

They say, "all is fair in love and war," but what happens when shrinking and hiding our shadow is also a part of the equation? Justice reminds us that our emotional needs must be met for us to invest in the relationship. After all, having the correct values ensures that we will get what we need, but what happens when emotions, values, and hard work are being provided in a dynamic where the partner has not quite invested as much? This is the time to be observational and take notes on how your relationships are playing out for you in a place that centers practical work and not delusional ideas involving intimate relationships! Yes, love is all we need, but if your partner does not do what is required, how do you see the evidence of love? Decide if this exam is theoretical or practical, or if there is a need for both to pass this class with you!

Water Signs: Knight of Pentacles.

Things move slowly, but is that always a bad thing? Or is there more context needed? If you're single, use this time to your advantage, as your potential partner deserves to see more of what you've got! Yes, I know you have a lot to give, but by using this time, you'll have way more by the time they come around, and your stock will be higher! Not because you're bringing something to the table, because he will already see the table you have built for yourself! The Knight of Pentacles informs us that we will have improved prosperity and how a potential love interest will come knocking on our door with something solid to offer us. This person will be reliable and somewhat serious in a mature way, ensuring us that they are trustworthy and we can ask for anything that is within their reach. The only thing is, if you're looking for a Jay-Z, you already know the work you will need to put in as Beyoncé. Besides, you'll see that you'll be able to say that his beach is better!

I hope these love tarotscopes provide you with clarity and courage for this month, darling. Remember, you are UNSTOPPABLE!
